The Monkees (go figure) recorded a great little psychedelic tune by the excellent songwriting duo of Goffin/King... That song is "Porpoise Song" and you know it's a great tune when both The Monkees and And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead both do justice to it... I'm not putting those up, but I do have a couple of versions that I think are damn good... First up... Lollipop Train...

...and here's LA popsters supreme, The Wondermints. I think this might be the first time in MOG history that Monkees, Porpoises, Lollipops and Wondermints were used in a single post. I'm so proud.
I'm going to post more about The Wondermints soon. They're the band Brian Wilson used to complete his Smile project.
