Quote:"Jon Bon Jovi could be planning to run for governor of New Jersey. That's why he's keeping his house in Red Bank, even though he and his wife, Dorothea, and their four kids have moved to SoHo. That's why he performs regularly at fund-raisers for Democrats like Al Gore and John Kerry. And that's why he hired p.r. guru Ken Sunshine, who was once the chief of staff for ex-Mayor David Dinkins."

My Trusted MOGs
I don't like it
My Trusted MOGs
Me neither - haven't heard anything remotely pleasant and original from this band since "These Days" in the mid nineties, everything they released after that album was utter rubbish. Such a shame.
I can't get into all this "musicians wanting to do other stuff" nonsense; play music, that's what you're good at, and music goes above and beyond any effort towards 'politics', 'freedom', 'poverty', 'environment' blah blah blah.

Jo your comment is idiotic. 1st: This quotation does not suggest that the entire band is going to run for governor so at no point would the quality of the bands music effect how well Jon would perform as a governor. 2nd you state that you "can’t get into all this “musicians wanting to do other stuff” nonsense; play music, that’s what you’re good at" but in the first paragraph you suggest that this band has not put out any good music since the nineties, so your pretty much saying that they aren't a good band. If they aren't a good band, why should Jon not run for governor?
Again Jo you are an idiot. And you contradict yourself.

ArcadiaLn, each to their own; if you disagree with me, fair enough; if you want to revert to namecalling simply because of that, that's your choice entirely, but may I advise you consider that such namecalling probably says more about you than about the person you are aiming your namecalling at?
I don't contradict myself, I may have stopped liking Bon Jovi's music, there are still plenty of people who do still like them, buy their music etc, for them to be continuing releasing stuff and touring, i.e. they are still successful and 'good' in the eyes of plenty of people.
And no, it's not the whole band intending to run for governor, but a lead singer whose last name also happens to be the name of his band (and please don't start any "yes but his name is Bongiovi, not Bon Jovi" type of crap on me, because it was Jon himself who decided for the Americanised version of his last name, and for presenting/marketing both himself and his band with the altered spelling of his name), and the writer of the original article that I quoted of and linked to decided to refer to him by his last name (just like journalists may just write "Bush" when referring to George W. Bush, president of the U.S.A., and not referring to any green leafy growths); I am sorry if you cannot handle any such creative licence.
That said, I apologise to anyone who may have somehow misunderstood anything I've ever written online, yet I don't necessarily consider that to be my problem to correct -which, to some (uneducated?) brains might appear as a contradiction, but I promise it isn't :P

ArcadiaLn seems nice.
