MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

(140)

As an old and long-term Oasis fan (that sounds like I have a disease of some sort, but I don't! ;P ), I have used many positive adjectives to characterize their music down the years. "Sexy" was never one of them. Their music just didn't work for me that way.

TILL NOW.

Push the fiery red button, and tell me I'm wrong. I dare you, I double dare you!

I shudder in the mere thought of how this song will sound live.

PS I'm still digesting the new album, but I like what I hear so far!

I was MOGging in the sounds of the new album...when this song came up, I nearly fell off my chair. I had to go to iTunes to check if this really is Oasis.

HOT.

i've played it twice now...and yeah...same reaction.

the lads went and got all sexed-up. ;)

As a dude/bloke I kinda find it hard to think of these guys being sexy. But I couldn't resist your use of the phrase "firey red button", so push I did and I at least gave it a try.

lucy haha I know! I guess taking a break really can revitalize one :)

Stefan, not them, the music! I'd say that the song screams lapdance and the like, but I'm a lady and I won't...oh wait! :P

Thanks for trying :)

I want to say "you're wrong" because I'm sleepy and feeling contrary. I want to, but I can't. This song is pretty hot stuff. I haven't been this interested in Oasis since "The Hindu Times".

But, Anna, that song is sung by a man. How can a song sung by a man be sexy? That's impossible. It's only songs by women that are sexy. Crazy talk.

Okay...in all honesty, I've been listening to the album all morning and didn't notice this song was sexy. However, after reading what you said, I had another listen to it and yes, I see what you're saying. I too have fallen for its throbbing guitars and androgynous falsetto. So much so I now want to have the Noel's babies. Thank you, once again, Lady Music Reviewers Of Mog.

Dale, hehe you and me have such soft spots for falsettos, that it would be impossible to resist.

Feel better, dear! hugs

Aww Fluxy, you and Noel would have pretty babies. You'd put the Bardjelinas to shame ;P

I've been called "lady" more times than I've been called a "reviewer", but that's not much in total hahaha I'm impressed that you called me both in one comment ;)

Should we expect a review from you? Say yes!

hahahahhahhahaha Troy! See you in Reading next year ;)

I didn't nessecarily mean the guys, but the vibe of the song, which does include the male voice. I wasn't quite getting the lapdance vibe, maybe I'll try again later.

Stefan, fair enough. Maybe it will work better at nighttime :)

Joxy, your loss on many levels, really ;P

Well, it doesn't do it for me, but it's a good tune.  It really doesn't sound like Oasis' usual stuff (except the guitar solo) and I like it better this way. Thanks Anna.

BECAUSE it's YOU sweet GrecianSIS of my heart... I will check out the track when I get home & see if I can get a gander of the album... never really been a fan of the Gboys... but sexy is ALWAYS OK with me as you well know !!!

Rejean, I had the exact same thought, doesn't sound like Oasis (and it works fo me although as a fan I am perfectly fine with their usual sound) except for the solo. It's good to see that they took the time to take a few steps further.

You're very welcome :)

Hey Lizzieness! I missed you...where have ya been! Hope everything's fantastic with you and yours.

Do check it out and let me know if it hits red for ya.

xoxoxoxo!

Great pick Anna. I can definately sense a sexed-up vibe, but I wonder if that's many thanks to the visual you painted with your "lapdance" coment. I was picturing Rose McGowan in "Planet Terror" for some reason.

Maybe I'd make a good saleswoman then...or a {musical} crack dealer ;)

The CD is getting mixed reviews, but I think it's cool in some circles to bash Oasis.  I've like what I've heard so far too.

I have tickets to the show at George Mason on December 20th -- and am looking forward to it.  Nice to see both Ryan Adam and Oasis.

Oh my, this is a nice way to start off the evening...if I can concentrate enough to get any work done with this in my head it'll be a miracle.  I swear though, I think I'm the only one who's ever called Noel G.'s voice sexy, apart from this song.  SO much music to buy...

interesting. agreed that i wouldn't have thought sexy at all if it hadn't been introduced as such. actually i'm still not sure. haha. or maybe i'm in denial.

definitely a different sound for them, at the very least!

Sexy Oasis? You're not referring to Club Med, are you?

Pretty damned good track, Anna. They're still rockin' that hard-edged, guitar-driven, meticulously-produced, post-Beatles Brit-rock thing, but it's working...

funoka, I'm in the circle where it's cool to bash circles where it's cool to bash Oasis ;)

You are one lucky sod!

Indiana, dog laptop humping? ahahaha I opened up a can of worms, didn't I :P

The rest of the album has more classic Oasis moments.

Julia, hehehe

Indulging in our musical fetishes is both time and money consuming....but we wouldn't want it any other way! Work? Work is overrated. Oasis aren't. Mwuahaha!

Glad to have your vote of hotness, Andrea :)

It's a varied album, I think. Has classic Oasis and daring Oasis. Makes me feel that they dug a bit deeper when they made it. I'm enjoying it quite much.

Lizzieness! That's marvelous! Let me know how you like the rest of it.

xoxo

V, ahahahha it's one interestingly perverted thread to walk into (I'm not to blame! ;P). And I love that you love it! The song, not the perverted thread, that is ;)

ardyjormkiv, I'm starting to think that I should try and get a job as a magician or a hypnosis master. Bah! You would have all found it to be sexy..I just provided the thought lubricant (please pardon that, Oasis made me do it...) :P

Cheers, Mikey. It's what they do best... that, and trash-talking, from what I gather haha :)

so far... I am tres impressed - really diggin the sounds on this album... I am not all the way through & certainly have more listens to go - but thus far I am pleasantly surprised to consider myself a new fan of Oasis & the bros G !!!

Lizzieness, that's excellent news! They have written some of the most glorious pop songs of our time, honestly.

(they are lost in a sea of Beatles' adoration anyway...)

Uncle A is rocking the sexy vibe :D

No worries, dearling. Hope you had lots of fun :)
